Looking Through the Window of Life

Looking through the window of life
Reflecting on yesterday's dreams
I see the years that have passed me by
Leaving only memories it seems.

I see the face of a happy young girl
Enjoying her childhood days
Touched by the sunshine from a golden sky
As she joyfully runs, skips and plays.

My memories move slowly forward
To a young woman in her prime of life
She moved through her years with happiness
Never knowing the meaning of strife.

My memories now bring me to the present
Where happiness is all that I see
My reflection shines in my granddaughter's face
And that precious little girl could be me.
