“The only hope for Country Radio”

The only hope for Country radio is to have DJs with great Personality! And these DJs must be live, drawing the interest of their local community! Why? You ask?
The High Tech is moving in fast! Radio “Airwaves” will be like having a country music concert with nobody there to listen.
Country Radio for years now have pushed out the great DJs who listeners love to hear, and be able to call, and joke with, plus ask for a song or two by request. It wasn’t just on Saturdays this was done either! Or with some special two hour show! The DJ was not told by their boss they could not play that country song, because it’s too old, or because we don’t play the legendary country music stars song anymore, even if they have brand new releases coming out!
I remember requesting songs the legendary stars had coming out as far back as the 1980s and the DJs would tell me.........”Sorry we don’t have that song.” ...........and I request another, and another, and they would say finally, please stop calling for those country artist, we simply do not play them anymore! But Why? I’d ask them.
and they would say; “We only play the New Country now!” ........and what I was requesting was new country, but, from the older stars! They say again; “We do not play music coming from the older stars even if they are new music, for our listeners don’t want to hear the old stars!”
Well, high tech is really moving in now! And “New Country” radio is now in trouble! The only hope for new country radio, or for that matter, all radio “air-waves” is to go back to the days the local communities loved getting involved in their radio, and listening daily
for those crazy, funny DJs who would give them their request line privileges of any new or older country music cd, and hear the country music they wanted to hear!
The days of hearing DJs say to you when you call to request a country music song, new or old; “Sorry we don’t have that song” ....
OR........... “Sorry we don’t play older country songs beyond the 1980s..........or 70s” ................ OR .......... “Sorry you can not make a request at this time........call Saturday's between 1pm and 3pm!” ......... this should change now!
The time is coming when radio corporations will be sorry they let go all the funny, crazy, super-radio-personalities, who know their country music stars of old, and new!
These great DJs have been forced to take early retirements and they were replaced by the digital networking computers with no personality and local community involvement! Respecting no heritage of country people, and they fail to entertain country people the way they want to be entertained!
Radio, Wake Up! The High Tech machine marches onward, and what you thought would benefit you is the very thing that is burying you and it will not have any mercy on you! For the computer age has no feelings! Not open to any agreement! Lovers of money rather than lovers of humankind! No tender affection! No respect for our country forefathers! And certainly no respect for country music lovers in America!
NO! The only hope for country radio is to search out for great Country Music DJs that can connect to the community as radio personalities !! And you must allow them to be able to play all country music! At any given time during the week! It’s ok to have digital programs of country music, however, always let the DJ jump in to play the public requested music! If you could win the community over! The high Tech will never replace the exciting country music radio shows with funny, crazy, radio personality DJs !
So the only hope for radio, is change! Change now! Or the space age tech will put you out of business! What kind of country songs does your country radio station have? What kind are they? Do you have the brand new releases coming from our legendary stars ? There is hundreds of brand new country music songs of our legendary stars! Do you have the latest Bluegrass songs? Country Folk? Why not? There are thousands of country people in America just waiting for your country radio programs to play this kind of country! Your listenership would double.........or more! Do you have the latest CD, brand new songs........never heard before.........87 year old Eddy Arnold just released! Is your country radio staion playing it? Why? I truely don’t understand why?
But, the new stars and their latest CD, your country radio station does have! Why? And Eddy Arnold’s you ignore? Why?
The only hope for country radio is truly seen by most true country music lovers, and some of these are country music professionals who are trying hard, at work in helping these other professionals in this business to see the light!
Please remember folks! Your present listeners make up only 30% of the country music lovers here in America! For most country music lovers do not listen to radio anymore already! Because you limit your program to new songs from new artist! High tech will take the rest of your listener ship soon!
